Hello. My name is Lisa Shade. I have been an active member of the Big Spring community most of my life, married for 18 years, and have a son heading into the Middle School. I am a self-employed business owner (established 2006) and a PROUD Big Spring Alumni.
I was active in the Oak Flat Elementary PTO for the 2018-2022 school years. During this period I served as VP for 3 years and President for 1 year. In addition, I was an active volunteer in the K-Classroom from 2017-2020 and was a BSYSA Soccer Coach for two seasons.

My passion for the Big Spring community combined with our youth’s education are key reasons I am running as a candidate for the position of School Director at the Big Spring School District. I have been in regular attendance at meetings and have spoken during the public comment period. My comments touched on tough topics such as: my concern for the community with the increase of property taxes, the financial struggles being created by the loss of enrollments to charter schools, and asking questions in regard to the surveys being asked of our youth and families.

Managing the budget to reduce spending and LOWER PROPERTY TAXES

Saying NO to CRT. Critical Race Theory, in all forms, has no place in our school district.

Academic Based Curriculum. Returning classic educational features to the curriculum for all levels. Spelling, history and cursive handwriting are just as essential to our youth as science, reading, writing and math.
